Hello from Oregon, USA

Hello all!

I came across this forum while researching my options for a new SIB (I didn't even know "SIB" was a thing before finding RIBnet) and have been impressed by the information I've found and the incredible RIBs people have.

Here in Oregon inflatable boats are not common, although you will run across an occasional SIB with a 5 horsepower or a white tender-type RIB.

I got into inflatable boats back in 1997 when I bought a new Futura MKII and a 25 HP Mercury "Bigfoot" motor. It was the first real big-boy toy I ever bought and I loved that boat until it fell apart this summer. Since I already had the console/seats/motor/et cetera, it made sense to buy a new inflatable.

So I am now the proud owner of a new Bombard C4, which in some ways is even nicer than the considerably more expensive Futura.

Lately the kids have been wanting nothing except to be pulled around in the tube (we are getting record high temperatures this year) but I have mostly used my boat for fishing and crabbing. I used to dive off it a lot, but I haven't been diving much since my son was born six years ago.

Anyhow, it seems to be a great forum, I look forward to checking it out frequently!

Just a few photos of SIBs past and present:

Hello and Welcome to the forum. You certainly have a lot of experience to offer. I do hope you have many safe hours on the water with your new rig. Finally don't be afraid to post as there is a mountain of information here. Cheers

It has been a hot summer, I believe a record breaker. Great boating weather, anyhow!
