The sailing club at Speke has a powerboat section, I think there are a few RIBs in it and they do RYA courses too. They have a ramp so it saves on permit fees for the Wirral but it looks a bit awkward.

Visit New Brighton at the weekend and there will usually be a few RIBs about as well, bit quieter this time of year though. Safewater has a club but I think that is more a money saving dodge (and a money spinner for them) to get a discount on launch permits rather than an active club. I'm a member and I've certainly never heard anything from them since the day I joined (it knocks about 60 quid off the cost of the permit, only reason I did it).

Cheers,

Stuart

Cheers Stuart - I didn't realise there was a sailing club at Speke!! You learn something new everyday - I will check them out.

I did my RYA 2 with Safewater and also got my permit through them. As a club they are inactive. Maybe this will change when they move into their new premises at the lake!! New Brighton is very quiet this time of year so haven't bothered.

What is all this about "rusties"?? Tony T that chair won't save you :-)

Rusty nails were consumed by many after being ordered by Kerny and TT on here after the North Wales Menai Strait April 2011 ribnet cruise. They gave subsequently become an obligatory finish to a cruise of ribnetters, despite being minging!
