Bishopthorpe is the place to launch for York. PM me and we could arrange a spin on the Ouse.

We launch at Acaster Malbis. The slip at bishopthorpe is very steep and unsuitable to launch with my van so acaster is better and cheaper for us.

They used to launch it from a land rover with a tow hook on the front if you paid £10 at bishopthorpe

They charge £20 to launch with landrover or £10 for self launch. You need a 4x4 to use their slip though as its very steep.
The problem is the guy comes and goes in the landrover so you end up waiting for him. Or in our case turn up to find out he isnt there all day.
As for acaster malbis its £10 and easy to launch with car/van.

Landrovers

When i get teh chance i'll tow the SR over with my Defender, can drop everyone in with it. Plan is to get a tow hook that just pops onto the front bumper.

Anyone fancy Whitby on Sunday? We will be launching about 11. Keeping an eye on the weather but at the moment looks warm and dry with modest wind and waves.
