Hello from Kent Island

I have had a Sportis (about 10 feet long) I got in 1999 and I just picked up an Avon Rover 340 RIB. I am sure I'll be having some questions on the Avon. For one thing I just figured out it takes long shaft engines, so my old engine is useless for the new one

Reading through the site, it seems like a lot of RIBs get used on their own. This isn't so common here in the USA. Most of them, mine included, are dinghies and are used along with the mother ship.

The new RIB may get used away from the big boat. I have a trailer so we may end up taking the boat to Maine for a week or two.
