Hello From Ireland

Hello I am a young rib enthusiast from Northern Ireland. I do not own a rib myself, but I drive ribs down at my local yacht club.

I have around 400 hours rib experience on my licence already. I have enjoyed a wide range of weather conditions in a wide range of boats, from 5m 30 knot wind swells to flat calm seas in boats ranging from 6m boats with 140hp engines to 4m boats with 40hp. The makes of these are Humber and XS Ribs.

I have a passion for fast boats and driving them properly, this year I was away for my countries heats to the Honda youth rib championship in the UK, and missed out on the opportunity, what can you do .

P.s Anyone heard of Redbay Boats?

Welcome!
I got into ribs through diving, and spent a fair bit of time over in Northrern Ireland around Rathlin, the maidens and Belfast lough.
I used to own a 7.4 Redbay and have been over to Cushendal a few times although not for a few years with a rib.
I am more into my hard boats now, its an age thing, hot water, toilets, beds etc but still enjoy a blast on an open rib.
Enjoy your ribbing journey, who knows where it will lead you!
Cheers Barry
