What governs your timing the bar or the Swellies or both?

I am going out of Pwllheli this weekend to go to Tudwalls and have a look at the seals.

Id like to make it over to Henllwyn on Bardsey too at some point. Have you been over to Bardsey?
low water springs is the one to watch for when crossing the Bar, other than that you're OK as long as you stay in the channel, but definitely check the website as the channel does move with storms! As for the Swellies, no problem in a rib at any state of tide, there's always enough water I like exploring between the bridges at low water, see where all those hard lumpy bits are, just make sure you've studied the various carts etc and a good depth gauge helps, but like I said, don't be afraid of venturing out of the marked channel, and just let the current take you through as long as you don't mind being spun around Puffin Island opens up the options of exploring more of Anglesey or heading across to the Orme and Conwy castle

Ah that's good news! Makes life slightly simpler!

Really looking forward to going on the Menai again. What's the procedure with Ty Calch, is it best to call ahead?

as long as it's boating weather there'll be someone about to launch you during the season, but if you want to make sure give them a call on 07917 859345, Chris & Tom are spot on, you won't regret it!!

forgot to mention Bardsey earlier, yeah been down there a few times, it's epic scenery all the way from Caernarfon, not to be missed, should be on every ones agenda 😎
