To continue, does anyone have any ideas what motormouth might have looked like. Can't find any pics of a
Boat like this.

Hi Tpenewell.. welcome to the forum .. your question confused me until I realised motormouth probably translates to motor mount

I don’t know your boat..but in the UK that design was called nicknamed a donut transom. I have a small Avon with a similar design. They don’t use powerful outboards as the mount is not very substantial . On the Avon..its a curly metal frame which slots into rubber grips glued onto the tube. Max hp for mine was 2hp..any more power and the engine buckles up the tube.

A good boat to get afloat in..but an older design now.

My boat

A clearer photo of the motor mount ..from a photo off the net

Hope that helps some...your motor mount may be a bit different shape ? ..but Im sure its the same principle ?

If its completely different..then I guess .. Im the motormouth

Yes motor mount is correct, hate this auto correct. Your pictures are about what I expected and will make. Also see where oar locks would have been. Will probably use a little 4hp I have as I hadn't thought about the tubes collapsing. Thanks again.
