Hello - a new (old) rib (NIreland)

Hello All,
Been lurking a while - great site Full of brilliant info.

Have just bought my first RIB on Saturday - a YAM480 with a Yamaha 50hp fourstroke on a Yam trailer. She has millions of miles on the clock (having been a sea school boat for the past 10yrs) - but is a tidy, family friendly RIB and still well capable of well over 30kts - as proven on a great day on the river on Sunday.
She needs a wee bit of tidying up but for the money she looks like will be a good (fun) purchase.
I was after a boat with seats suitable for young children - not jockeys at this stage.

Also own an Arvor 25 with a 220hp mercruiser inboard - i do a LOT of sea fishing.

Have had a series of Boats over the last 18 years - starting with a Dejon 14 with a 40hp Chrysler, a Redbay Fastfisher 19 with a 40hp Yam 2 stroke, an Ocqueteau 685 with a Lombardini 82hp diesel, a Aquabell 33 with a big Ford Mermaid and more recently a Rodman 900 with Twin Volvo KAD44 260hp....... Traded the Rodman down for the Arvor.... long story!

Professional Mariner (P&o Cruises/Cunard for 12 years - Irish Ferries for 4 - and recently taken a shore Job (Asst Harbour Master) - so know a few of your cruising grounds well.

Always wanted a RIB (having done my Fast rescue Craft course with a previous job), so hopefully will not ask you all too many silly questions....
