New NAUMATEC 26 Freccia

Dear Ribnet friends,I'm pleased to present the new Naumatec RIB Freccia, it's a 8 mt Rib intended as a luxory tender or as a "toy" for short fun (and FAST!!) daily exits.
Everything is topquality, from lamination wich is done with 100 % vinylester resin, multiaxial glass and kevlar, taylor made seats, teak, met.paint, tube manufacturing to end with details such as sparco fuel caps or adjustable 3 positions steering wheel.
The RIB runs close to 60 KNOTS with a single Evinrude 250,it's based on the very same hull designed by naumacosdesign for the 2007 world champion naumatec racing rib that runs @ 66 knots with twin 200 hp FNM diesels.

It's borderline, but as I reckon this is of genuine interest I think we can let this one slide by

Nice looking boat. How come the girl looks to be freezing cold. Is it that cold in Milan ?

Centre gap consol is only ever a warm weather option. It needs a centre infill to make the whole front end and windscreen enclosed for cooler weather. Just a thought for you Fede.

Secondly,

It doesn't really look like a RIB as we know it in the UK.

If for some reason it was to fill with water would it :-

a) Float ?

and

b) Be able to get rid of that water quick ?

That engine looks like most of it would be under water if the boat filled with water.

Just a couple of questions from a non design qualified RIBBER.

I think it still manages to preserve most of the RIB qualities quite well - and the engine wouldn't get any lower as the tubes are just in contact.

First of all, thanks to John Kennet,as a young broke designer I really appreciate...anyhow my interest is (as I did for the racing RIB) to get comments and feelings since I feel this is a quiet innovative concept,if someone feels I'm breaking rules I'll remove the post in a minute.

Second : thanks for all the nice comments.

Then:
Pics are taken in Venice...at 40 knots it was a bit cold...don't forget women are always cold, even under a stone breaking sun.

The rib is intended as a warm weather boat, anyhow when we tested last week it was cold, you don't usually go boating in a rib like this end of october in northern Italy.

The only difference between this rib and a "traditional" rib is that here the fiberglass is going over the tubes,as codprawn says : no big deal.
