I just bought an old inflatable boat, its 3.1 meters and on its side it says Zed but on the back it says zodiac and i think the model number is 1945.
Im curious if anybody knows more about the boat i bought.

It's a Zodiac Zed 31.

Use the search facility on here-they've been discussed recently and there'a bit of info.

Ballastboy on here has one he's repairing.

The standard reply "use the search function before you publish" I did but there wasn't any helpful info for me there. My boat is not in need of repair i just wanted to know if anybody had any info about these boats.

There's not much more out there, but you'll find things like fabric , glueing techniques etc if you need them.

It's an odd construction-it's glued like it's made of hypalon, but it's made of PVC.

I had one new as a kid. Great boat that we used with a 4 then 8hp 2 stroke Yamaha. No GPS back then, but think it did about 20kts with 2 kids and the 8hp. Available in cream/blue and cream/brown from around 1980-1985 (estimate). Had proper wooden oars and pin type oar locks.

We used to break the windscreen with alarming regularity, easily replaced with home made version. Floor was a huge PITA to fit, a little air in the tubes and placing an oar under the hull helps.

Great boat that I remember with a smile, only replaced when grandad ran over it with our speedboat

Our first inflatable was a 11 Zed which we enjoyed. We bought it based on price as we did not know if we would enjoy it.

The floorboards were a problem with the design as they were too flexible. They were also hard to install, but we had some good times with the boat. We replaced it with an Avon Rover which we still use after 20 plus years.

If they're plastic, they're obsolete...

All of the floor joint pieces are aluminum h-pieces now.

Go to Zodiac's website and find your local dealer...give them that part number.
