ZODIAC FUTURA, with a bulge in the floor.

Anyone seen this on ebay? Would it be a big repair job?

I think the small strands within the airdeck have all broken in that area. Would be very difficult to repair. Easiest way may be to make or source a hard floor and use it with the airdeck deflated.

Not a bad price but I had one of those selvas. Amazingly simple, but a dreadful motor.

The owner (Ebay ad) says the boat was left in the sun? Sounds a bit implausible. These boats were sold around the world including hot countries such as Spain, France, Greece. More likely that there's been a fuel leak which has delaminated the floor adhesive. That bulge won't neccessarily cause problems, but it's likely to get worse.

Decent Zodiacs come on the market now and again. Just a case of waiting for the right one to come up. Don't rate Selva motors, but ok as an anchor!

Aren't the floors welded? Surely they don't glue the PVC in the floors and weld the rest of the boat?

Zodiac used glue on the floors up to about 4 years ago. Now they are all welded.

And that floor is toast - non repairable. As stated the micro strands have separated due to excessive pressure.

Thanks to all who answered, learnt that the engine is a dog and the boat is right next to useless. Next!
