Zodiac Futura 4.2 MkII

My dad purchased this boat new in 1986. He and his mates done a lot of diving from it.He built the custom tilt trailer, so he could put dive gear/camping equipment in the storage lockers. And then he sold the boat probably mid 90's. A couple of years later the guys who bought the boat came back to sell it. So I bought it from them, I re painted the trailer, had our boat builder make me an arch for my rods and sounder, it was 1997 so I put a new Evinrude 30hp on it and then had a few years having fantastic adventures. we skiied, tubed in the surf, dived and fished, perfomed rescues. This was a great boat. I eventually sold the boat and had a stint on motor bikes, but I will always have a soft spot for this boat.

RIBase
Zodiac Futura is an excellent boat. Early 1980's boats had seams on the top (under rope cuff) that were prone to expansion and contraction from sunlight, which they later corrected on later versions (seam underneath). Good for 20 years. That's what I got from mine.
