Yes! Planing away :)

Took my Honwave out tonight for a quick spin up the river.

Gave her a couple of short 3/4 throttle runs after tinkering with the Mariner this week at work (gave her a good service, new plug/gearbox oil/carb clean etc), and whoooshhhhh she's up on a plane. To say i'm impressed is an understatement, it was bloody marvellous

It's the first time i've got anywhere near lift off, but the main reason i managed it was a nifty little tiller extension i knocked up at work which allows me to get further forward in the boat. I'll pop some pics and a 'how to' up tommorrow when i get a chance to take some pics in the daylight. Cost me 10 minutes of my time plus about 2 quids worth of materials to make and it works a treat, better than paying £25 for one off ebay.

Lets just say, NOW I'M HOOKED! The feeling you get when it first lifts up and you get that lovely quiet smooth feeling of no friction is just so addictive!!! I know i shouldn't have been doing it on a river, but it was just for a few seconds just as a test, next stop will be a large lake or the seaside so i can take it to full throttle and see how i get on then.

Anyways, those who are out and about this weekend, happy Sibbing.

Sort of depends on the river, doesn't it?

Have fun;

Going by your location, the river I'm on would be a piddly little stream compared to your local 'Frisco bay I guess

I don't suppose there's a 4mph speed limit imposed there??!!
