Yam 260

Hi

Thinking about buying one of these for use with a longshaft Mercury 5HP 2 stroke. Do any of you guys have one, I cant find much about them online, could an adult and 2 kids use it?

I had a 3.4 Quicksilver last year and it was fine but bought a RIB and have the 5HP as an aux and am tempted to get a SIB again for use with my campervan.

Any views on the Yam would be appreciated. I just worry its too small to be any use.

I've got a Yam 280 with a 6hp longshaft 4 stroke Merc. There is enough room for me and my two kids, but can't get it to plane with the three of us on board at the same time. I might add that I'm a weighty 19 stone and with kids are 14 and 10 if that helps any. I guess the longshaft outboard doesn't help either But with just me on there it flys along pretty good.

I think the Yams where made by Zodiac and are made from the longer lasting Hypalon rubber. I'm pretty sure the 260 might only be rated for a 4hp BTW.

Thanks Hightower.

In the end did not buy the Yam as I got a Zodiac on eBay at a good deal. the Yam is still available for around £300 if anyone is in the market for one. It looked to be as new.
