Because all your buying is the boat. The engine is not something anybody buying that kind of boat will want to use. The boats only £890 new with warranty anyway...

Why would they not want to use that outboard, is it over the power rating for the transom?

Because it's over 30 years old!! Not sure the average family would want to run with such a motor when paddles are your aux!!!

Saying that I bet it runs great :-)
