Which Floor

When my cheaper 3.4M Ali floor (inflatable keel) SIB gives up the ghost I was wondering what I might replace it with in the Honwave range. I rather like my flat ali floor but have never known anything different. I therefor like the Honwave 3.5 m with Ali floor at £860. T35AE2

What are peoples opinions of Ali floor v inflatable floor.

I keep the boat on a trailer so only deflate occasionally

Dennis

OMO but i go ali floor all the time two reasons.
more robust & if an air floor gets punctured at sea more of a problem getting home in the rough than an inflatable keel going down.
you could argue sharps with an air floor too.

Why not a wooden boarded floor? I have never had aluminium, but I have heard/read it can be difficult to remove when putting the boat away. It is obviously easy to dent, dink or bend. Board floors are easy to instal and easy to repair or replace, and easy to fit things to.

That said, it is all about personal taste. The various manufacturers sell plenty of each kind, so people must be choosing each kind for their own reasons.

If your gonna dink Ali wood won't fair any better you need quite some force as the Ali has a extruded form that clips together so one pannel is made up of quite a few rails and won't need painting. Of coarse you get what you pay for.
