Which engine

I just got a yam380s it rated for a 25hp.
Not sure if to get a Yamaha 25hp or 15hp. What the wight of them, will I manage to lift the 25hp on my own in and out of a discovery. Got launching wheels on boat. What sort of speed will I see there will be just two of us.

Thanks jamie

I've got a 380 Ali deck SIB and mine goes well 2 up with a 15 hp. Sometimes I wish I'd got a 25hp but every time I lift my OB I'm glad I didn't.
If you were leaving the boat inflated on a trailer then get a 25hp but if assembling every time a 15 is the most I would want to lift.
To give you a rough idea, 2 stroke 15hp weigh about 35kgs, a 25hp about 50kg.

Thanks for the quick reply. What would be the difference in speed?

Good question someone else will have to answer that as I've only used mine with a 9.9 and a 15.

A 15hp 2 stroke is about the limit for manhandling alone - TBH a 9.8 is enough for me up and down the beach.

How far will you have to carry it? From where it's stored to car etc.
Also you will want launch wheels on the boat and a trolley for the OB.
Theres a yam 25 on eBay, if your looking at the same one Im talking about check the sellers feedback as the one I saw had a few bad feedback left. I don't know any thing about it or the seller just worth a look.

Got launch wheels. Would only need to pull from car boot to boat. I think I need to go look at the 25 and lift it? Thanks for the replays folks

Yes would be a 2 stroke. Not many about at the min can only find one on eBay but he looks a bit of a dealer with some bad feedback.
