Tohatsu 18 2stroke.

Hi
Going to look at a 2001 model tomorrow been winterized and laid up in a garage for 5 years and he wants £975 for it.
Should i go for this on my T35 ae Honwave or the 2009 BF15 for £1500 i have been looking at.
Gonna be used for trips around Torbay and hopefully pulling my son around on a ringo and kneeboard.
Are the Tohatsu's reliable etc?

Thanks for your input.
Paul.

Bear in mind I like 2-strokes....

The Tohatsu has 20% more power for 13lbs less weight and is both rugged and simple compared with the Honda. The Tohatsu 18 is a bored out version of the 9.9/15 so very good power for its weight.

Many clean 2001-onwards 15hp 2-strokes are easily making £1000 so if that 18hp looks genuine I'd be very keen to buy it.

If it's in good working condition go for it, it's a very reliable well built engine with great punch, has nothing to do with 10 & 15 same size, weight younger brothers which are 250 CC, the 18 is 300CC and 50 CC more makes the difference.

Happy Sibbing
