Another Aerotec... in grey this time and the newest I think I've ever seen listed... says bought 2014 so could be a 2014 build like mine. £1499 start just for boat which might seem high but a real alternative to a new one at £2300+.

Same seller an as new 2014 Honda BF20 starting at £1749...

Long shaft?

He's going to struggle with pricing at that level!

The one posted a few pages back (380/15/trailer) ended with no bids at £1950.

I assumed longshaft was an error as it looks a shortshaft.

This 12yr old one sold recently for £1242... BOMBARD AEROTEC 380 INFLATABLE BOAT | eBay

OK it had some kit but I'd far rather one 2yrs old for £1500 and find the kit myself. Last year when we were looking for ours new if I'd seen a 2014 used for £800 off the usual discounted new price I'd have been in Poole to buy in hours.

I thought that outfit would have had interest but one pain was that the guy wanted to keep it for another 4-6wks after you'd purchased. No way would I have bought under those conditions.

Edit; Oops too late as usual 😀

Ive got no knowledge, but it does seem cheap for what it is.

Hmm that's weird... a knockoff Frib from the look of it.

Looks like the sort of thing you could get in a batch from Alibaba. The brand on the data plate doesn't come up on a web search.

But "FRIB"s are just like other Chinese SIB's aren't they, ie a generic design made in a Chinese manufacturing plant and then badged in the West (Seago, Excel, Waveline etc)? ie anyone on here could go to a Chinese agent, order 50 - 100 and badge/plate them how they like?

Is the design an exact clone of the boat marketed as the FRIB?

Presuming maybe that these guys that the matrix url redirects to had a former business importing them or got one to test the market?? Boat is noted as "ex-show boat".

I thought the Frib was Russian... a re-badged Winboat??? Not totally sure though.

http://winboat.info/sites/default/fi...%20Winboat.pdf

No that orange thing is not an exact clone just similar concept. Cone ends look weird.

Too right, did not want to mention that for fear of offending 'bulbous cone owners' but boy, all cones should be pointy pointy. Anything else looks truly horrible.

Actually I'm fine with flat cone ends on modern SIBs... it was more the construction and/or the lack of outer cap that looks odd.

My F-rib was made in Russia.

If you type in matrixribs.co.uk it goes to the zegomarine website, who have premises in Penarth. Might be worth a look for someone who wants a something similar to an F-rib 330.
