I think that is well expensive , I nearly purchased exactly that combination as it was on offer brand new boat and engine for about 2500

The honda was only 2850 new for boat and engine the extra being the honda engine the boats were the same price within 50 quid if I remember .

If you buy one get the Bravo 12v high pressure pump with the pressure setting on , footpumping these things to the correct pressure is a long hard job,

Yes-that's the same price as you can buy an ex-contract 40 for if you look around.

1100 for an ex contract engine is big money when a brand new one was 1600

as I said boat and engine deal for 2500

The 3.8 honda is about 900 quid and was in my opinoin the better boat so even more money could be saved there ,

Portavon boats in bristol had an alloy floor honda going cheap back in the summer and a 25 mariner that had an hours use really cheap due to a customer buying the wrong shaft length .

If you have the room the alloy floor is better but heavier , you need a transit van to move it all , and then a bigger engine so it kind of defeats the object .

The inflatable floor will easily go on a rooftop

Apart from boats and outboards / ebay wheres good to look for sibs? Anyone got web sites of places selling sibs at good prices.

Looking like i'll have 2500 max to spend on it and want a decent motor with it.

Something like this http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/view/SIM460/ would be ideal. Like the idea of it being heavy duty with the wear patches on the tubes and has a good size engine. Really need something with a bit of 'get up and go' in it!

good deal that, offer him 2.5k cash and you will have a great boat, nice modern 4stroke too.

I wouldn't-that 40 4stroke will be somewhat heavy and underpowered compared with most Sr4's. Cheap if you can get it for 2.5k though-might be worth trading the 4stroke for a 2stroke.

I agree the ideal lump is probably a 60HP 2stroke Yam, but being a poor student an economical 4stroker appeals to me. My 70HP Tohatsu drinks like George Best when you give it some beans.
