SIB for Kids
I'm contemplating buying a SIB for the Kids to muck around in and learn some skills.
It has to be a cheap package.
So what SIB/outboard combos am I looking at. Outboard has to have a twist throttle on the tiller.

One of the current boat mags has a test of 14 ish SIBS as tenders (2.7m) and one was best budget buy - new for £350 !
Have just given the mag away I'm afraid ........
Outboards - depend how much power you want them to have ! I love my 2.5 Suzuki for my tender/SIB.

I'd suggest an outboard big enough to give good performance, or at least get the SIB on the plane.
I would have thought you could fabricate a stop to restrict the throttle opening fairly easily on most outboards - that way you can limit their speed to start with, then as you / they get more confident remove it.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks Peter, that's a bit radical for me
What I should have said is that I'm definatly looking at the second hand market and something that can be folded up and placed in the boot of a car or aboard my RIB for use in difficult to reach places.

Thanks Peter, I know that's a good price, but I've still to add the outboard and would be looking at around £600/£700 which is a little out of budget.
I'll keep watching ebay

Well it's all your fault anyway Nasher.....
With stories you've told over the years and me recounting them to my Kids. All I get is..."When are we getting out own boat Dad" type of comments
