short shaft or long shaft

Thinking of getting a 3.5 hp 4 stroke for my excel 330 ,do I need a short shaft engine?

It is 99.9% likely to be a short shaft but I'd measure to be sure before buying an OB.

Top to bottom of transom. Around 15/16" shortshaft or 19/20" longshaft (highly unlikely).
