Ya man good news on the fix!! Ill check mine, but Im running a remote throttle so it should be fine. But Ill check it all the same. I hear ya on the weather, but Im hoping for a long Indian summer or something. I do have a few wet suits, and a dry suit I can wear when it gets alot colder.

Ive been tinkering with my boat a bit. Got the arch from Canada, and custom built my battery/fuel tank box, then covered it over with Seadek.

That arch is a thing of beauty!
The box is nice too, but I couldn't see losing that much floor space, for me.
Different strokes for different folks. :^)
I've got arch envy now.

I have an ETEC 30 and the shaft on that measured 22 inches to the AV plate. Accordingly, the AV plate was about 3 inches below the bottom of the transom ... and it looked just like yours did in the pictures you posted.

Thanks! Its really not a loss of space though, It made it to not only be a box, but a platform. I can stand on it and fish from it. Also it can be used as additional seating too. Yeah, the arch is an awesome addition. Oh yeah The box is actually part of the support for the arch. I was contemplating attaching it to the transom, but I decided against it. Ill post up pictures of how I mounted the arch to the platform/box when I get a chance.

PS:They ship most stuff for free except the arches of course. My shipping was like 140 from BC to MD eastern shore. However customs and uncle sam slapped me for another 45 bucks for taxes or some type of BS. If you live in Canada you wont have that issue. I will say the construction of the arch is super high quality. I have no regrets on buying it.

Ill put some pics up of the adjusted setup I have now. I really dont have any ventilation problems unless Ive got her propped up to high on the holeshot.

The pitch change for me only effected the top speed and WOT rpms. I have a viper 19 pitch 13 7/8 on it now which puts me around 33mph at 5600 wot. I had a 21 pitch same diameter and max speed was up near 38, but 5000 wot.

Ill have to take some measurements on it, I know it calls for the long shaft, which is what I am using. Im very happy with the setup now, she preforms very well. The only thing that is problematic is when traversing a rough 2 foot plus chop i get back splashing into the boat. Not much effect until I stop, and then try to replane off, the trapped water in bilge area bogs her down. So then I have to go to idle and pull out the drain plugs and then throttle up until Im on a steep angle to get the water to drain out.

I wish I could figure out a way to put a sump/bilge pump in, but being a SIB its just not a good idea. Even though the drain holes have one way valves water will seep past them and flood the bilge area when not underway. More of a nuisance than anything else, cause water in the cockpit area isnt going to sink any inflatable.

Hmmm...why is it not a good idea to have a bilge pump on a SIB? I can't imagine not having a bilge in my boat. After we come back into the boat with our scuba gear we drag a ton of water in. Especially with our drysuit pockets. Since I often beach launch we have to pull the boat out of the water by hand, sometimes in small surf, and our beaches are typically steep with soft sand/gravel. The less weight the better, and water weighs a lot. I solved that issue by putting a bilge pump in and it works great

First I made an ABS plate that bolts to the bottom of the pump. The plate has very soft edges. A quick pocket made out of PVC was sewed up, with a velcro closure for the pump, then glued it in place.


The exit pipe goes up to transom height so it doesn't flood the boat. I really need to bend up a clear U tube and put it above the transom so I can see, it since I can't hear the pump running. The switch for it is in my electronics tower (I have a tiller, since we need room for scuba gear).

Wow that's pretty ingenious. I was worried bout the pump moving around and causing a tear. Never thought about attaching it to the bottom with a PVC pocket. I was thinking of something similar, but just a tube going into the bilge up to a hand cranked siphon/pump.

Nice job. I always enjoy seeing the innovations people on this site come up with.
Another diver with a tiller here, for the same reason.
I've found the 2 transom drains to be sufficient for my needs.
But this electronics tower sounds interesting. How about a pic of that?
