Secure fuel tank to airdeck??

How do you fasten the fuel tank securely?

I've used elasticated bungee ropes in the past, but no matter how I do it the tank is never "fixed in place"

I plan on using it in the sea this year so obviously need to keep the fuel tank secure

It's a futura FR (airdeck)..... Any ideas :-)

How about netting around it with some bungees

I had this problem when I had the Honwave airdeck.
I glued D ring patchs to the airdeck and then used Bungees/straps
and it worked fine, no more finding the fuel tank at the transom after a few big bumps.
If that doesnt suit....
You can find a transom shaped fuel tank designed to be attached back there.

I struggled with it I used to wrap it through the handle of the tank
But stick it in a small horses hay net and you get more fastening opportunities there about £5

Made by Moeller, called the Dinghymate, but you're not going to like the price.

The airdeck does have D ring patches to hook bungees to but the tank still moves around

Transom shaped fuel tank looks good, but I think I'll try netting first (cheapest option)

Why use something that bungees? Anything that stretches, is...well, going to stretch. Use a motorcycle type tie down that won't break, and doesn't have give in it. Granted I have a hard deck, but I use a ratcheting tie down and have never had the fuel tank noticeably move. You can get tie downs make with stainless if you so desire. Plastic "Fastex" buckles are not reliable.

This is a 360 sib with flat air mat & fuel tank :

1-Glue a small d'ring on bow front, slightly under handle, secure with small strap.

2-Could use both side d'rings to secure tank so doesn't move sideways.

3-Can tie tank handle to side d'rings with rope or straps.

4-Tie a front d'ring as in (1) and 2 d'rings side to rear of tank and on top air deck as in (2)

Correction:

4-Tie a front d'ring as in (1) and "glue" 2 d'rings to rear of tank on top air deck. Tank should be well secured and perfect for ballancing sib much better.
