Sack Barrow Part 2,lol

Well got one from wickes in the end,£30.00 ,well sturdy, thought about pump up wheels, but the bearings on them barrows are pants, used at work and don t take half as much weight as a heavy outboard before there knackerd, strapped a 4 be 2 lump of wood on after drilling holes, and well tied up with rope bin of water under, and pulled away with one hand supporting the stand whilst pulling, felt more safe and after a few times sussed it out how to get her to start on a near to first pull.fun emptying the water out ,used a foot pump, surprisingly quite fast, can t tell if she is running on both pots tho,don t know what to look for sound wise, any other physical signs of knowing?defo the best way to move an outboard when stepping up from say 15hp

Outboard carrier.

I saw a brilliant idea in Wells yesterday. A man was putting an old Yamaha 20 into his estate car.
He had a sack barrow type trolley with holders to keep the engine stable as it rested on the trolley, but near the top of the trolley below the handles he had another pair of wheels.

He trolleyed the outboard to his car, opened the tailgate, then backed the trolley up to it.

He then rested the top wheels against the car floor and having picked up the bottom of the trolley just wheeled it into the car. Brilliant and little effort needed.

Wish I'd had a camera........

Was it one of these (several companies make similar ones):

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/images/.../050710040.jpg

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...n-1-sack-truck

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Universal-2-1-...item563e18a275

http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Sack-Tr...-Sealey-CST978

They are usually described as '2 in 1' sack trucks.

Cheers

Chris

Sack Truck

I have a Mercury 25HP on the Machine Mart truck http://www.machinemart.co.uk/images/.../050710040.jpg It worked really well for a while & then all the ballbearings fell out of the small wheels! I've now bolted on a wooden block instead.

Look for something a bit more heavy duty. If you find something suitable let me know.

engine running smoothly ?

To check if your engine is running ok, carefully (using insulated pliers) remove a spark plug caps. If the engine changes note it is a sign that the cyl is firing ok. Then try the other one.
This is only a quick check, no guarantee that it is always correct.

My Take On The Sack Truck

Wheels (ex B&Q sack truck) just hook under part of the frame and also fit on back of SIB. Engine is 4 stroke so has to fit at an angle

Oops no pics

My Take On Sack Truck

Just lift it over the bumper, wheel in and spin around. I'm lucky that I can pull the cover over
