Traditionally a Y-Class wouldn't tow at all. It may handle the tow rope between the ALB and the casualty vessel.

D-Class eyes are much stronger and better positioned for the towing set up used.

I did think that what you had would probably be for lifting, which explains why our one doesn't have them! it's from the era when ALB's had a ramp for launching the Y-Class rather than a hiab or manual davit.

Hi,

Just wondering what anchors people are carrying on their Y classes?

Cheers

Spend a week away in Shell Island, Wales. Great time in the Y class worked brilliantly!

Looking for trailer ideas. The Y class have huge hulls which makes my current trailer very high. I was wondering if you could upload some photos of your Y class trailer?

Cheers

Had 3 different trailers, always limited by the tubes touching the mudguards, can't go lower without a wider trailer.

Current one is SBS.

Previously had an Indespension Vario with bunks and an Extreme inflatable boat trailer.

i've got the vario too as you say mudguards limit, i am just talking to rollerglide they do a roller system for SIB'S as do tyronesnell trailers to get rid of the bunks.

De Graaf for me. Height not a major issue as I roll it off the trailer onto transom wheels and then launch from the wheels.

Got a Vario at the moment but doesn't fit it great has to alter it to fit under the tubes in doing that I've raised it to clear the trailer cross sections therefore making it hard to launch.

What model is your SBS? Looks like it fits well on that trailer

I'm not sure, I will check tomorrow and take some more photos.

It is quite long for the Y, but that helps a bit for launching.

Looking great! Much better choice than painting the tubes!

Hi gocherhaz

Just picked this up you have a vario same as me I noticed how high you are on the bunks which must be a pain mine is a bit but my bunks are resting on the mudguards so much lower that yours. Working on a roller bunk system at the moment waiting for the guy to get back to me will post up when I get sorted.

Cheers

Hi. Yeah had to lift it up allot. I'm currently working on some plans to change the whole design they have leaf Spring suspension which raises everything up allot. I've ordered a more modern axle to let the trailer sit closer to the ground. I'm changing it to look more like the De Graaf trailers.

Thanks
