Have a look at this old film from the early 1980s shows a Zodiac y boat in action at 5mins 40 sec and near the last part at 8 mins.

Some more pics, as requested by Max. Sorry I don't have many action shots as its normally me doing the filming.

It was built in 1996 and retired in 2011, so was in service for 15 years, anyone know if any of the orange ones have been released yet?

Nice Sam, I'll post up some pics too as I've gathered quite a few over time - you did blooming well to find that at the price, I've missed out on two or three over the past 2 years at 600 to 750 odd. As I say the search goes on.

RNLI Y Class SIB wanted

Here are a couple of video's showing the orange Y's - guessing the RNLI will have quite a few more years out of them yet.

Thanks.

I've been in contact with Adrian at RNLI disposals for a couple of years now but no more Y's have been released in that time - had the latest email this morning and it looks like still no more releases for a while:

Hi Adrian,

This is becoming an annual event - I'm still looking!

Once again really the same question - do you expect to release any Y Class
boats this season?

If you can also tell me is there a set price they are sold at as the private
sales vary wildly?

Do the RNLI also sell on the other parts associated with these
boats - fuel bladders etc and the standard 15hp Mariner 2 strokes (used) if these are sold at 'end of life' too?

As always thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

Max

Reply:

"Max,

The Y Class boats were approx 800 ish when released for sale from RNLI but very much depending on condition etc.

No engines for sale for the foreseeable future and again no Y Class boats due for sale over the next 2 seasons as our current expectation.

The Y Class fuel bladder RNLI part A6-1022-N is 275 + VAT.

Kind regards

Adrian"

Can anyone help with the history of my Y class? It's number is 137 and I think it could be the one on the bottom of this photo?
