Whisper and I had a bit of a fight to dismantle this thing but it did come apart. Heavy duty doesn't do it justice, the old Y Class is built tough. It's in lovely condition but needs a good clean and a touch of varnish. Prep is already underway. More to come...

Awesome! Glad both of the Y Class's have found good homes. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Sure looks like you had your work cut out taking it apart. Will you be getting a trailer for it?

Sure need one, it won't be getting wet otherwise!

But planning to be out in the Aerotec this weekend but weather for Saturday has just changed to (more) thunderstorms. ****ing worst non-summer I can ever remember.

Well done on finally getting a Y-class Max... look forward to pics of you out in it.

I can't quite believe it but tomorrow the tides are right and at our launch site the weather looks like this below... unsurprisingly everything's in the car ready to go!

Some more comparing the sizing of the Y to the Aerotec.

The Y keel 'sausage' is enormous compared to any other SIB of this type.

I'll post up some detail pics that might be of interest.

Old elastics on the storage bags very tired, will treat them to some nice fresh boingy stuff.

How I wish all SIBs used valves of this quality, real heavy duty brass that work perfectly and any tapered hose fitting seals nicely into a big fat rubber gasket. No secondary air seal (a la Zodiac) needed as the valve holds air just like a valve should. The cap is just a dust cap.
