Quicksilver 3.8. Best engine recommendation?

Evening guys Can anyone tell me what in their opinion is a good engine size (hp) for a 3.8m Quicksilver inflatable? Any and all opinions most gratefully received.

Do you plan to place and retrieve engine every time the combo will be used, plan to use a trailer ? Tohatsu 18 HP to transport 3 passengers and gear at full plane is a perfect combination for a 380 sib. 2 strokes are much lighter than same 4 strokes models. If needing more power go for a 25/30 HP, but heavier though.

Happy Boating

G'day Poll. I don't have a quicksilver but I do have a 3.8. SIB with a 30hp 2 stroke. It does wieght 51.7 kg but personally I think it makes a good power to wieght ratio. With 3 adults, gets on the plane with 1/3 throttle and 1/2 throttle crusing nicely.

Much obliged mate, I have a 30hp longshaft but will hopefully pick up a short shaft soon.

You can install a 5" transom mount and use a L 30 HP engine....
