Patch repairs and tool kits for travel

OK guys. I am looking to get a repair kit together ahead of the trip to France. (Bombard 380, 25hp Yamaha 2 stroke) I can see from various comments that two part adhesives are best but can any of you point me at what is a good brand/type to get? Will be needing some orange and black PVC as well.

This aside do you guys have a list or set if items that you consider the basics that you take away each time? I have come up with the following list but do you think it is comprehensive enough?

• 2 part adhesive
• Patch material
• Tools (enough to cover the fasteners on the engine)
• Spare pull cord
• Emergency pull cord (if applicable to your motor)
• Spark plugs
• Spare prop (?)
• 2 stroke oil

Anything else that you guys have on your lists?

Spare fuel bulb or fuel hose ,

couple of short peices of metal tubing and wire for sleeving split rubber hose,

couple of various size nuts /bolts and washers ok for tempory patching up small holes .

Couple of self tapping screws ,

Hacksaw blade ,

couple of cable ties,

Spare prop nut,

couple of dabs of waterproof grease in a small container ,,eg 35mm film container .

and a few fine pieces of wire strands for poking dirt out of blocked holes in carb ,

suppose a lot depends on how remote a place you are going to .

I usually get glue/fabric from BMC - great choice here and the Bostik works superbly.

BMC Inflatable Boats Ribs Outboards items - Get great deals on items on eBay.co.uk Shops!

I would pack spare valves/caps too. Loads of cable ties, torch, multi tool, emergency knife, electrical taps, spare wire, nylon cord, pressure gauge, pump adaptors etc in addition to all the usual safety gear and electronics..

Thanks Max, I got a repair kit!

I am struggling to find a retailer for valves for the 380 - any ideas there? Google does not turn up much of any use?

Guessing any Bombard dealer should have them? Not sure but some of the Bombard valves are the same as Zodiac I think?

Forgot to say I pack all the above small bits and bobs in sealed bags in a cut down 4/6 litre milk container - makes a nice emergency bailer too...

What about some beers, cider and wines and also pack plenty of cheese, the old froggies love a bit of cheese and if you need something for your boat that you've forgotten you can always swap a bit cheese for the item that you need.

Good list coming together here! May have to swipe it.

Don't forget CRC Engine start (or something similar).

That stuff has saved me time and time over on all sorts of motors!
