What a fantastic outfit and a real step up from your previous one.

You do need a passenger forward or a week's camping gear to trim it though.

The Futura is fastest if you can get the front 2/3 of the boat out of the water, kinda like an American bass boat.

Judging from the amount of splash, he needs to raise the engine a bit more.

Thanks guys.

1/2 to 1/3 on the water worked well with my Excel too. Balance is always a dynamic thing in a little boat.

The motor is trimmed in the 3rd hole of 6 at the moment.

I'm going to try lifting the motor up on the transom about 2-3cm with a hardwood spacer sometime as I think its a little low. Probably won't matter that much in typical sea conditions but worth trying.

Of course for ultimate speed but in typical UK choppy conditions a little more weight forward helps. I've not seen water like your image for around 8yrs.

Not bragging about water conditions but...
This water is the Colorado river 23 miles below Hoover Dam

Sorry the video won't load.

Sorry about the bad video above. I did some reading on the better way to display videos.
Here you go.
The boat is a 2013 Futura with a 40 hp mercury 4 stroke. I sold that motor and bought a 60 hp etec. Same weight so why not go big. It gave me another 12 mph (37mph with 2)

It is impressive how little motor you really need if you keep it light. My setup is pretty heavy compared to Gazzago's new ride. Makes me re-think things!
