New member greetings / SIB question

Hi all.

New member here, great site, I enjoy reading the posts and there's some excellent advise and information given by members on this site.

I'm not new to boating, and have been bombing around the solent in rings and phantoms for many years. However got a great deal on a 2001 Yam380 with 1999 yamaha 2stroke 25hp ss which I've used maybe 10 times in past few years. However the SIB is showing its age around the transom, so looking to get something newer/new.

I'm tempted with the excellent value Honwave 3.5 AE - insurance aside, would this SIB be capable of holding my current yamaha 25hp? (46kg I believe). It's rated for 20hp/77kg but think this is due to the 4strokes being a heavier engine.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, and happy boating!

Liam

Welcome.

Weight is not the issue maybe but insurance is. Go over the rated power and it will in all likelihood be uninsured.
