You're welcome, M.

That's Mike Deacon's latest, Hot Lemon 5. One serious boat, the current Round Britain record holder (under 30').

Mike hasn't raced that boat yet AFAIK, unless there was a class that he could enter at Cowes? I went out on his previous RIB once, in a F10, we averaged about 50kts. Awesome ride, a real experience of a lifetime! Both the previous boat and the current one powered by Yanmar 300's (I think the newer engines are rated slightly higher, 315hp)

Of course Ribnut was a windup!

Louise tells me that Hot Lemon V did in fact run in the Cowes Round the Island powerboat race during Cowes Powerboat Festival.

So Chris, has Graham persuaded you to buy a decent RIB then?

i got there too late to chat to anyone so just had a nose around to see what the scorpions are like. trouble is the ones i like are a bit too expensive, prefer a family orientated layout as most other interests of mine are me (bikes) only so want the rib to be for us all.

suspect for less than 20k the cobras are the best option for me

chris

You don't see many decent 2nd hand 7.5m RIBs for sale at under 20k!

I do know of one about to come onto the market soon - a 7.5m very similar to ours. A very competetive price has been hinted at.

If you have any flexibility there, I'd be seriously inclined to look at what 22k-24k could get you, these guys might even do a cash discount!
