Mice in Avon footpump

Looks like mice, or some small animal, decided to store D-Con pellets inside the footpump for my Avon Redseal.

Has anyone ever taken one of these pumps apart, and gotten it back together? I'm wondering how the fabric is attached to the top and bottom of the bellows. I can see a plastic strip with staples, is it also glued?

Does it squeak every time you press the pump?

It's probably glued in addition to the stainless steel staples as it needs to be airtight. There's not too much to them just rubber diaphragm for air intake, etc.
