Mat for your bottom

I have a 3.4 m ali floor SIB with a blow up keel and when sitting on the floor and kneeling I would like something non slip and a bit softer on the floor. What do people tend to use for this

I think for flst hard floor sibs most folks use the interlocking "play" tiles that are often seen in DIY shops, Halfords, Aldi etc. They are about 50cm sq and a foam/rubber. In fact that may be what Jeff uses.

hi denis

Specialist Anti Chew & Tough Pet Products | Maximum Pet Products - Maximum Pet Products for waterproof dog beds i have two 4 inch thick foam [£63 the pair] in the rough i sit on the floor leaning against the tube use one for backrest.
for the floor google interlocking floor mats i got 6 for £16 which just did my boat up to the wood floor boards two sorts one with holes in one without i got with holes in to catch the grit so i can hoover out save most of it going under the boards just my preference.

cheers

david/jambo

you're both right if it's not going to be rough i take the foam cushions out but they are handy to sit on on the beach if you land.
the interlocking tiles you can buy from all over i just found a six pack at the right price they are very robust and a lot better on the knees than the ali floor i didn't stick mine down but if careful with the right size mats [more than one size] you can glue down with the joint across the board joints.

And if it's your thing the tiles are often available in lurid green, pink or yellow... in fact black/grey seem to be harder to find.

We have a rubber floor all over and the I use a kneeling pad (eBay) in 50mm high density closed cell foam. About 2ft x 1ft. Works great and easy to take in/out. IIRC about £5?

I just ordered 24 ft square of this. Should do the job. Now a method to soften the edge of the rear seat where I was leaning. I am thinking pipe insulation

Here is mine complete. Quite pleased. I taped them together on the back with gorilla tape. They do expand quite a bit in the sun though

Neat job Bigplumbs. You obviously didn't feel the need to lay them as far out as the tubes then?

No just to the Ali bits over the flat bit of the Ali floor. There would have been a big bump if I went up to the tubes

Fair enough. So, out of curiosity, what stops the mats from sliding around if they have nothing to buffer against?
