There's a lot of truth in the above posts - I would not want to carry more than 30kg of outboard to be honest - 50kg is a bloomin' great lump to carry over any sort of rough ground, pebbly beach etc.

And a 25hp engine is really going on a 4m boat I'm guessing - again a big lump. All that negates the whole lightweight, carry over a beach, launch anywhere beauty of SIBs. IMHO the upper limit for SIB sensible boating is a 3.5m and a 15hp 2 stroke.

If the whole rig gets bigger you're into trailer/slipway territory and better off with a 4m Searider and 50hp RIB combo.

My requirements are not so romantic: I keep my boat at a 1st floor folded down my bed when off season. I do save a lot of money with that.
But I can handle a 4 meters boat and 50 kg engine if just twice a year.

If my plans included travelling without a trailer, or if I had the chance to launch my boat more often, I would go for high pressure floors and 15-10hp engine.

I also must say that the bigger the boat, the less often you use it. Some people buy a dream as big as they love it, but then it becomes a nightmare. Same with cars and houses and sex!
