So why is it easier to take off wheels and put them in a bag (with the risk of losing split pins etc) than flicking them up which tales 30 seconds?

I agree. The solution seller wheels are rated at 180Kg, Beachmaster at £200, but lighter duty wheels that you mention are typically 120kg which is much less.

I don't think price has anything to do with it. Solution Seller wheels are still priced as a premium product. The reason why Beachmaster wheels so expensive is that they are a premium price wheel, they are shipped from NZ, we have double exchange rate conversion to pay, we have to pay tax on import and there is often a lottery whether we have to pay the import duty handling charge. So what started off as I wheel that I could buy in NZ for equivalent of about £170, turns into a wheel costing a third more at the very least. Its not long since I could have got the Beachmaster wheels in NZ for about £100 - but I didn't know 5 years in advance that I needed a pair!

But you are right, quality is important which is why I either want to see a pair or get first hand information from someone who has seen them before I buy. Solution Seller have enough confidence in their product to offer a full money back on return including both shipping rates but even so, first hand knowledge from someone who has used them is more important than trial and error. Unfortunately these items are so new that no one seems to have used them yet. Thankfully I still have 3 months to find a suitable pair.

Haven't you answered your own question? Solutions seller wheels simply twist and pop up and store on the boat in the bag - about 10 seconds and no chance of losing anything. From what I can see, Beachmaster wheels cannot stay on the boat in the bag so you need the removable ones and have to store the wheels separately.

Just reread original post to my above reply and i feel some crossed lines so apologies for my abrupt response. The comment was about beachmaster wheels having little advantage over PacerMarine wheels (vs solution seller wheels) in that they both needed to be removed for storage unlike solution sellers. The advantage beachmaster does have over PacerMarines wheels is that they (beachmaster removerable) are more easily removed, but at 2 1/2 times the price, you would have to lose quite a few split pins and finger nails to make up the difference. It would be different story if beachmaster removable was £150, but they are not and at £250+ are not an option.

I have good solid removable wheels that work a treat and I have all the pins and R clips connected to the boat with ball chains that you have in a bathroom sink. All the chain and clips won't rust and everything is connected and can't be lost.

I would post a pic, bit its all packed up for winter.

Happy Xmas

I'm also looking for some removable launch wheels for my 3.3m Excel so if anyone has a good system to make them removable I'd be interested.

Sorry to dredge this up again, but did anyone have any thoughts about the difference between the PU and non-PU tyre options? Going to get some of these for the cadet.

I was concerned that the PU wheels would be too hard and skittish on hard surfaces. I was assured that they were just as flexible as the pneumatic wheels, just that being solid, there would be no valve or inner tube.

This set of wheels are still top of my list and I will probably go with the PU option and wheel covers.

Oh right so the PU ones are solid. Hmm. Probably makes sense then to save hassle with punctures.

What's the point in the wheel covers?

Wheel covers offer additional protection to the boat when folded.

Just wondering if you have ordered these? Interested in the shipping time and initial thoughts.

Whilst top of my boat expenditure list, other priorities means that I'm going to have to put this purchase off as late as possible so need to get it right first time. Hence my interest in your purchase.

Not quite yet I'm afraid. No rush for us either but will probably do so in the next couple of weeks.

The non inflatable ones. Only worry is if they don't float then we'll be getting a wet hand when we reach in to lift them up as the ones in the video pop upto the surface. Debated between the two but having the solid means no need to ever top up and no potential puncture which is non unlikely on sharp shaley beaches. These ones are very smart because they can be left on when rolled up.

Have you got any of that stainless cleaner left? We could really do with some.

No one seems to have actually posted this to the thread so might as well:

Popping to the surface has the negative of when you want to put them back underwater they are buoyant and require more force to sink. I have to get in the water to put mine back under, or pull them back into place with a rope and pulley system I engineered. Getting them to the surface means cutting them loose and using generous amounts of throttle. Those look pretty simple since they are so small.

Well I'll make my own video of them when I get them out on the water. Won't be for a few months though I could mount them to the VM next week and see how that works out.....
