Cheers Jeff, I know Applecross fairly well been up there a few times fishing the hill lochs and stayed at that campsite in a camper we used to have. Never been with a sib though.

Hi Gurnard, i was hoping Mull would offer some sheltered Sibbing should the weather turn and thanks for confirming.
It was probably your excellent post Guppy rounds the Ross of Mull that got me on to it and I did notice the ferry was fairly cheap also which is always a bonus.
We don't mind a bit of light rain or wind but will definitely wait until last minute and keep an eye on the weather. Really want it to be north west Scotland but the weather will probably make our minds up.
Good luck circumnavigating Skye!

I know it's luck of the draw with weather but I like to base myself in the Oban area mostly because you have the big town for the every day stuff but if it blows up you can hitch up and find a sheltered loch somewhere.loch feochan launch from ardoran marina charged me 30 for the week very sheltered and come out at the bottom of the sound of kerra loads to see and a nice trip under the Atlantic bridge a must in my book. But as you say pick out gurnard's threads a sib & RIB guide to the Isles I think great reading.
Glad you have been to applecross fantastic in the SIB hope you get sorted.

Cheers

Good Choice to moor the Boat...we stayed there just above the Loch a few years back.Easy reach of Oban and Easdale ect.
With loads of choice further afield if the weather is good
Hope the Sun shines for you!

Thanks for the info, I'll bear it all in mind. That's one plus to camping we can leave it until last minute. Cheers
