I have a similar set up, with just 1 person it feels very quick and can be quite a handful if its choppy, gets just over 30kts trimmed out. With 2 or more in its fantastic, a really nice sib with a decent turn of speed. If going out on my own I generally put a 15hp on instead, plenty of power but not as mental at the top end.

Your motor is huge in size but it is the correct weight and power rating for the boat.

im a bit skeptical about wether or not this zodiac guy is legit, but i've also spotted an avon R310 with console, 15hp honda, and galvanised trailer for 1000, it's local, so i've sent the fella a message asking if I can arrange a viewing.

Would probobly much rather have that than the SIB anyway, looking online guys are suggesting 20knots 2 up with a 15hp on a R310, which is plenty IMO!

The Honda is probably a 4 stroke?? So heavier but no need for oil mixing obviously. 1000 sounds good if its in good nick!

gutted!

It as indeed fourstroke and would have been just perfect for me, could have kept it at the yacht club and just launched/recovered when using it....

it sold a few hours after the ad went up. I e-mailed the fella 3 hours after he put it up so it didn't hang around for long.

given up on the zodiac idea, after I asked for pics with my name and todays date they stopped replying to my messages, i also see several ads on boats and outboards for the highlands and islands where the boat is really cheap and they say they can deliver..... most of them have teh same mobile number when I called it frm a witheld number there was no answer.

Very much doubt i'll find anything like the avon again anytime soon, certainly nothing nearby anyway

I have a Tinker Tramp for sale if you are interested, it can sail as well as work like a SIB with an outboard .Not fast as max HP is 4HP but great fun all the same.

pm me if interested. Hard to get something decent in NI! The chaps in Mullan Marine can do a new Honda with a really nice used 15HP outboard for about 2k if you can stretch to that?

sorry their name is Sands Marine Bayliner Boats, Fishing Boats, Outboard Motors used to called Mullan Marine.

They had a nice 15HP Mariner (1100ish) and were doing to for about 2k with a new Honwave (the alu floor one). It was a few months back and may be sold by now but worth a call if you are in the market.

Ah cheers,

If I was going to spend that much i'd be looking for a small tender type rib with a console really.

Wish I had never seen that avon now as I don't think i'll be happy until I get something similar...

Keep looking they do come up. I missed a YAM 380s with a lovely 25HP and trailer for 700 last year!

There is a chap selling a SR4 with no engine for about 500 on Gumtree, if you could source an engine would that not suit you?
