Yes, the deck stays in. No need to remove it, but do make sure you get all the air out.

Let me know if you want dimensions for the bag.

Been tidying up the 9.9 Suzi a bit lately.

It's by no means Concourse, but I'm pleased with the way the hood has responded to:

A bit of elbow grease to rub it down.

Vauxhall car paint that's just a bit darker than the original.

Clear Lacquer.

Black Vinyl panels I cut from some material I had laying around.

Some cheap Decals I laid out myself and had cut in Gold Vinyl.
At over 20 these are one of the most expensive single items we've purchased for the boat, but are less than 10% of the cost of Genuine Suzuki ones.

Going to get some Gold pinstriping tape from Halfords to finish it off I think.

This winter I'm going to give the hood on our Suzi DT200EFI the same treatment to smarten it up a bit.

Before and after pics below.

So the next chapter in this story started today.

The 'not so smaller' Nashers boat has got slower now the eldest is bigger than me, and the youngest almost there, so they needed a bigger engine.
Still need to carry it around and rig it at sea though, so a 25HP is out.

I've been looking around for the holy grail, a cheap 15HP Short Shaft 2-stroke in good nick, but couldn't find anything for less than 800 that I would consider, so went back to plan 'A' and collected this today for well under 100 in the state you see it here.

It's a DT15 of early 90's or late 80's spec - still to confirm that one - and it needs: - Not a lot actually.

It was taken apart to investigate it's rough running and given up on by the previous owner.

The bores are in really good condition without the slightest hint of a lip at the top indicating wear, but strangely it's had some water ingress into the top pot and the small end bearing has rusted badly to the gudgeon pin.
That piston has picked up very slightly without marking the bore, but annoyingly the other piston has a broken skirt which looks like it's been done on disassembly.

The crankshaft assembly is pressed together on these but thankfully the big ends and main bearing trapped inside the pressed together parts have no wear that I can feel. The end bearing and seal assemblies that I can get off I'll replace anyway.

So
2 x Pistons, rings and Gudgeon pins.
2 x Main bearings and oil seals. (Already looked them up and they're available from SKF)
Full gasket set.
Paint it and Carbon wrap the hood to match the DT200 on the RIB.

And should be good to go for our Summer trip to Dartmouth this year for @250.
