Just renewing with Craftinsure for about the 5th year. £54-30 for a Honwave T35 and Mariner 15.

Around £2500. Don't forget any kit like transom wheels, bow or seat bags, cover, Bravo pump etc etc.

Make sure you put in a sensible value to cover all items.

Most policies will be "Market Value" policies which means in the event of a loss you'll be paid out based on market value.

Premium is calculated on the value you state (amongst other things). So, if you state a low value you'll save on premium but if you have a loss and it can be seen that the value of the boat was more than you stated you'll effectively be under insured and any payout will be reduced accordingly.

Insurance

Thank you very much tried them and £53.60 that's another few pound in the tank, you may have seen this is only my second post, I have now purchased a honwave t32 (2011) mint as new with the Honda launching wheels, and a Yamaha 1996 15 hp 2stroke mint with 30-40 use fresh water only took it out on Thursday to a quick test all great hope to be able to pay balance and pick up on Wednesday . Payed £1600 I no a few people on here said it was top dollar ,but the whole outfit is like brand new.
Could I also ask if you could tell wich is the last lock on the thames before it goes tidal, and can anyone recommend a launching site just after with parking available .

Thanks Dave

Teddington lock/weir is tidal limit but environment agency licence is still needed for 100 yards or so below the lock so if you are in close vicinity of lock/weir, the lock keeper could nab you if you don't have a license.

Looks a bit grotty, but slip at Putney looks a good place to launch. Was going to try it few weeks back but my 9 year old bottled it as I was going to head towards London and tide wasn't suitable for heading towards the shallows of Richmond.

There is a lot of information about the Thames have a look at:
Cruising
Information for boaters on the River Thames - River Thames
and Environment Agency - Boating on the River Thames

I have launched at Putney. Careful where you leave your car unless you'll be back before high tide - the road does get flooded. Some of the rowers give you a bit of aggro others can be very helpful.
