The issue is - as on so many occasions - the failure to wear lifejackets.
Best not tell the coroner about the RNLI D class.......

I read it as he abandoned the guy

Seems the inflatable boat was also a pool toy being paddled about.

The whole story sounds suspect IMHO. No power boats on Bala at all, little wind and its not a big lake so very little fetch. Where would a wave big enough to capsize them come from ?

I agree with Peter C, sounds like a pool toy like those Seahawks on Ebay, but even so, they are very difficult to capsize with 4 people sat on the floor.

Yep I agree , looks like the disabled guy was left to his own fate by the sound of it.

If you go to the bottom of the page which comes up on the link, there's more on the story. It appears that it was actually an inflatable kayak they were out on, which explains the capsize.

Photo of the inflatable kayak is in one of the links below. Sounds to me like they put three people onto a two person kayak, without lifejackets, in heavy wind, and won a Darwin Award.
