Thank you very much for your comments, i have decided to store the SIB in my attic i have purchased a Honwave T38 after much help from Fenlander and lots of others advise on there threads. I may get the Aerotec repaired at a later date, but for now all of your help has taught me and made me aware of the expected life of such a product.
I will make other posts to help others out as i learn about the Hon wave but for now i will shelf the Aerotec and break the news to my dad.
