I guess we are at about 30hrs total this year too which is a drop in the ocean compared to Gurnard. But it amounts to almost 300Nm which is not bad for a family use smallcraft based 90mls from the sea.

Most important is not the actual hours but the pleasure each and every Nm and every destination has given us.

True fenlander and I must confess to getting a fair bit of enjoyment from the off water tinkering thats required between trips. Plus we have discovered a number of wild camping spots on the north devon coast that we plan on using next summer.

Away travelling and living in the boat for a month; does that count?

Gurnard thanks for taking the time to talk through the waves, in some shots they look like the biblical parting of the seas! Ive taken a few photos of waves the peaks/troughs never come out so when recounting to friends it looks like a nice calm day, surf photographers like to float about in the troughs with wet suit and waterproof camera housings - that warming Guinness could go in the list of essential SIB equipment

Duggie12 - wonderful photos, West coast Bahamas in some shots

Completely agreed Fenlander and Simonafloat, part of the pleasure of this (hobby?) for me is the planning, gaining knowledge and kit building off the water. Off to Devon next weekend for non boat related trip but will grab the chance to get out for a few hours and that feeling of being on the water

You can camp in farmer Bill's field at East Tarbot,( the narrowest point just before you get to the lighthouse) for 2 per person per night. And you can launch a boat from there.

Like others, not enough.

Around 40 faultless hours.

I'm actually going to miss it.
