honwave keel protector

Hi All.
First post on forum for me...

I have the honwave 3.8 air deck and noticed the keel protective strip has come away at one point...
Does anyone know the material of this protective strip so I can carry out a repair with the correct glue/priming operation.
Thanks all...

Hi and welcome.

You will need a 2 part pvc glue, obtainable from your local chandlery shop. Also some mek or Acetone for cleaning surfaces and somewhere warm with low humidity.

Hi Dave... Thanks for your reply....
I was more concerned with finding out the type of material of the protective strip as it's my understanding,if it's rubber based pvc glue will not work without some specific priming first....If you have knowledge of anybody successfully bonding this strip with just 2 pack pvc glue then that's good enough for me and I will give it a go.....Thanks again....

Hi

Material is PVC.the keel strake must be the same PVC base but I'm sure there will be others along shortly to confirm

PS: You could prime with sand paper or similar.Acetone or me cleans the surface.

Hi

Just to add you will need acetone or mek to clean the surface can be obtained from eBay or your local chandlery. Also needs 24 hours to cure.
