Tried and tested definitely, it's only a 30hp not 300hp, its politically incorrect to own a boat in my family, I have one cross bencher prepared to vote for me and the other daughter suffers from being a female . So any financial matters have to be swindled through, turning up with forward controls would mean jail time, possibly death.
The servo / motor will need to be fitted to the tiller handle and removable whilst rolling around and plan b ( tiller extension) refitted to tiller. A steering failure would mean the same.
A bit of quality time in the shed messing around with boats and a few dollars on eBay, a few home brews, sorry back to go work.

The good thing is that people who don't like boats have no idea how much stuff costs so can believe it was only about thirty quid!

I can't work out if you've picked the wrong wife or the wrong sort of boating for your wife.

To comment or not to comment that is the question.

Not to mention that the later US Navy destroyers and such steer via a tiny 1.5" joystick (though on those things, twitchy steering doesn't really come into play.)

Certainly doable, just a matter of how much return you get for having to engineer a workable solution.

I estimate 6 tallies, there's enough pome left in me to engineer a frugal solution.
Tallie is a bottle and pome is prisoner of mother england
