Half past April

With lighter nights and warmer settled weather, it was time to wake Ballast from his winter hibernation. So a knock on the door and a get your gear, he was ready to go.

I hadn't been idle over the winter, I'd made a trolley for the human dynamo to pull. It was so good I had to use a high speed camera to take a picture.

You can see the blur lines.

Whoosh, and he was gone.

The sea was flat and with a very light breeze anticipation was high.

We motored out and tried several spots but the fish just weren't feeding. So we headed a bit further out. into deeper water.

Finally we caught a fish, a codling of about 2lb, which was released to grow bigger.

By about eleven o'clock a S E breeze started chopping up the water, so by 12 o'clock we'd had enough.
A nice morning to start the season, even though the fish didn't play.

The only spoiler for the day was an oil slick several hundred yards long, that we went through.

Basically the axles from a garden cart and some ally box. A bit wobbly but but it's fine for what I need.
