The property has a floating pontoon. I think we will have a great time looking at pictures of the area.
Is it Simity cottage? There's plenty to do within the Loch to keep you happy. When are you up as I might be there.

We have been reasonably regular visitors to Tayvallich over the years. I've thought in the past that Achnamara would not be a bad place to base yourself either - as then you could hop in the boat and pop over to Tayvallich for a coffee and cake which would make for a nice wee trip.

I can honestly say that over the last 5/6 years I probably have had 2 nights where they have been a bit of a nuisance. the west is not as bad as it use to be and nothing compare with the horendous 'press' the wee beasties received over the years. hell they dont live long so give them some space anyway its only the female that bits and only if she likes the smell of ya

We will definitely be doing that! Looking forward to it. Will be great to open up the Tohatsu 9.8 and see what giddy speeds we can achieve.

Sorry if I caused offence Jambo
Been up the East coast to Brora fishing & this year for the first time due to the breeze no midges....
We go to Carradale for a couple of weeks in August and the little sods were appalling last year on a couple of occassins, the kids asked if they could borrow my cigar!
I once drove down to the head of Loch Etive and wondered why everybody was sat in their cars... I've never seen midges like them. Huge clouds that literally covered you and feasted .
Ironically we have a lot in Yorkshire this year!
No issues when out on the water at speed though

Sorry was wee bit edgey but the number of times it appears on here....... It just sometimes seems thats all scotland has to offer |Granted the wee bu££ers are 'bloody' annoying to say the least and have spoliled many a hiliday for me. We used to stay out on the water till night then make a run for the house they just love me sweet. JUST SO ARGYLL!!
Once had to use the windscreen wipers to take them of the car at the top of Glen Nevis. But over the last wee while (kiss of death) they have not been to bad up in Loch Sween.
My apologies to you and I hope you continue to holiday here in God's country.
Take care
B

No offence taken Jambo, we love the west coast ! Over the years done all of the west coast plus Mull & Skye and if I did the lottery & won it you'd find us as neighbours for a good part of the year!
Second only to Gods county with a coastline that to me is unbeatable in this island of ours!
Still hate the midges anywhere though............
