Fuel line and petrol hand pump placing

Hi sibbers.

My petrol can will be placed at the bow, to help levering the sib weight and to save space in my 4 meter sib. I think it's a good idea.

So I need a new longer fuel line.

Is it a good idea to place the fuel hand pump 30 cm from engine intake?
Or should I place it at least 50cm from engine intake?

I mean, will I have an improper petrol line (fuel cuts) if hand pump is much too close to the engine, or much too high from floor?

Dont think it makes much difference where the primer bulb is ,
Only down side if its away from the engine & nearer the tank can you reach it to prime without having to leave the engine controls ect ,& should the engine fuel pump fail you dont want to be having to go up to the bow to keep priming/ pumping ,
The Only other down side with a long run of fuel pipe if its empty & airlocked & the bulb is situated away from the tank it can take a lot of pumping to get fuel up the fuel line & to the engine .

Secure tank up front. Fuel line should be long enough to run it through tube's sides if counting with side d'rings or middle deck straight from bow's fuel tank to engine.

Happy Boating
