Well that may not be the wisest thing cos that'll be where the biggest tidal flow is likely to be.

I'd be up for joining you, my long trip this summer has whetted my appetite for similar crossings. But its a hell of a long drive up and my concern would be making the wrong call upon arrival. A 10 hour drive up only to call it off, there'd be a lot of pressure to head out into unsuitable conditions.

On the other hand, you are 'only' 5 - 6 hours drive from the Lundy crossing I am planning on repeating this summer. And if conditions aren't perfect on the day there are plenty of other plan b's.

My outboard is getting stripped and serviced this winter and I should have a functioning auxiliary engine by the spring.
